I use induction burners at school everyday, and yes, they can burn you. The burner itself cannot, but the heat from the pot will transfer to the surface of the induction burner, thus making it almost as hot as the pot itself.

if you dip the apples in simmering simple syrup for 20-30 seconds before you dry them in the oven, they won't oxidize and turn brown.

Did you know that Hersheys and Nestle and other big companies are trying to pass legislation to lower the amount of cocoa in it to actually be called chocolate and not chocolate flavored? Write your legislators.

once sugar is in its crystalline state, the only thing it can be used for is caramel sauce (the kind with heavy cream).

I would check out Etsy, they always have Amy Butler fabrics and they're 6-9$ per yard.

The Green Cat, Eliza--
Pain au Chocolat, or Chocolate croissants, are very time consuming ( around 3 days from scratch) and very very difficult to make in a home kitchen. unless you have a bakers block table. I make them on a daily basis and let me tell you, it would probably be easier to go to a bakery and buy some or try the trader joes croissants.

Wow, I don't think i've ever seen a post bashed so much like this before. If you think its so trashy, overdone, or ''dangerous" why don't you post about something you think is so much more innovative and original? I just think some of the rude comments are so unnecessary .

Portland is very walkable, the public transportation here is great and it is pretty compact for the most part. Not to mention all of downtown is free for public transportation.

Ha! I Own it...I love, love it. Its the only colored thing in my house basically and it has a lot of white things on it to take the harshness of the yellow away from it. I didn't think it seemed cheap, when I put it together it weighed about 2000 lbs. The cabinets are big enough to store all of my electronics and even my Wii Fit.

If you're substituting dry active yeast for fresh yeast you should only use 1/3rd of the amount called for. I'm in bread class right now :)
