I haven't read all 111 comments, so forgive me if this is a double post, but for many shows and movies check your library. Im currently watching Game of Thrones on a borrowed DVD set. They also got me the 1974 Dr. Who DVDs. Weighing the Pros & Cons of Cutting Cable |

While the handle is nice, it takes away some of the features of the KitchenAid that I love- the front attachments that really make my stand mixer a multi-tasker. Product Review: Breville 5-Quart Stand Mixer |

My favorite survivors this year were Yellow Pear tomatoes. I was looking forward to growing Great Whites, but alas, my cat ate the seedlings off the counter... My Tomato of Summer 2011: Wapsipinicon Peach |

3:00? I wish. By the time the bus got to our stop it was after 4:30 so we just waited till dinner at 5. Ah, the joys of living out in the middle of nowhere. Junior year and my own car meant a snack before work though, usually a pack of crackers and a can of warm coke! Childhood Memories: What Was Your After-School Snack? |

Herms, check your local transfer station/dump/recycling center or ask on Freecycle. One of my pans came from the dump and one of my mom's from the side of the road. How To Clean and Season Old, Rusty Cast Iron Skillets |

My favorite is crunchy peanut butter with honey or maple ham and provolone cheese. Toasted garlic bread is a bonus, but white bread is my usual. 5 Pretty & Bizarre Peanut Butter Sandwiches |

Like cmcinnyc I made Strawberry Jam today. My first ever canning project (and first time ever making jam). I think they all came out well, the lids have all pinged, and the "test spoons" tasted great! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of June 20-21, 2009 |

To S and the r: I'd like some of that three berry tart if you'd be willing to send some! ;-) It sounds good, with either the lemon curd or the almond cream. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of May 16-17, 2009 |

My mom has one, and we always loved eating corn bread ears growing up. Especially good with baked beans and hot dogs! I don't currently own one, but it's on my "look for list," despite the annoyance of multiple re-fillings. It is a perfect size for two people though. Check with your local library- they may be able to use them. We are constantly handing patrons plastic bags, but would rather see more of the re-usable bags coming in and out. With budgets the way they are none of us can hand out free re-usable bags, as much as we would like to. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Weird Green Dilemma: Too Many Reusable Bags ... |

What a great idea. We don't have a dishwasher, but we rent a 1980's mobile and I KNOW there are places I can use this idea. :) Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | How To Prettify (and Kittify) an Ugly Dishwasher Panel Annie's February Jumpstart Project 2009 |

In the past I've collected clementine boxes and used them as mini gardens for kids. (I run a Story Time program) The boxes are just the right size for the kids to organize their garden how they want with several types of plants, and it was portable! The kids can also customize the box with paints if you have enough time. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Honey Bear's Clementine Crate Bed |

I'm wondering about using Magnetic Paint and then covering it with the Chalkboard Paint instead of bothering with cutting sheets of steel. It's probably less expensive too. I believe you can get small jars of both types of paint at craft stores, but I know you can get them online. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | How to: Make a Magnetic Chalkboard in a Vintage Frame |

We always tried NOT to get the school lunches in elementary school.... we didn't have a kitchen so the food was bussed in from another school- several towns over- and was always super gross. I remember people finding things like metal pieces in the "brownies" (looking back it was probably tin foil) and the same congealed pasta-like substance as Julie! We would also find things like slugs in our milk boxes. Honestly! Though it was a rare experience it turned you off milk for weeks.
