lady j i totally agree. and the cage, always proves for a good scene! but nobody has mentioned the music! two (maybe three) weeks ago when they used the flight of the concords song - genius.

My big thing is that house is supposed to be a big white house...i'm so afraid the movie will not live up to my standards because of the difference :(

i had a large antique table like that in my old apartment and i paired it with wicker armchairs that were stained a dark color. i still miss that dining room!

i saw a great piece like this - but a little shorter - when walking past the touch last weekend on Valencia. I've recently admitted that ikea can have some worthy pieces but i would totally rather go for a solid wood or used furniture piece.

I have a quick warning about these bars...I bought two of these and two packs of the S hooks - I was going to use them to hang my bags and accessories. These bars - the shorter ones or longer ones - aren't the correct length to be secured into the studs. A standard stud is 16" and these measure at 21 3/4" and 39 1/4". You can't put any weight on them or it will pull the bars out of the walls. I think it is so funny since they are supposed to be for pots and pans but without the security of the stud it won't hold the weight. The Grundtal bars are the correct length but aren't as thin and unnoticeable.

I would use it in my bedroom. I just moved into a house and the carpet in my bedroom is hard and velcro like. Literally my socks stick to it and make that velcro-ripping noise when I walk. BTW if you have any solutions to help that I would really appreciate it!

I am making my first ever ikea trip this week to buy a bedframe and I think I'm going to grab some of those shelf inserts as well. I can think of a million ways to repurpose those.

I almost bought a dresser there despite the broken marble top (it was gorgeous!) but the drawers were split almost beyond repair and the owner kept trying to push me into it any saying "I could sell this for $1,900 today if I wanted". I grew up with antiques and a mother who dealt in them - the $250 he was offering it for was too much for the condition.

I bought chairs similar to this at X21 (mine are Hans Vagner) then this weekend found some almost identical at Community Thrift on Valencia between 17th and 18th. Their chairs normally run between $12.50 to $15. It's ssoo easy to reupholster with your average staplegun.
