I have one in my bathroom. I kind of over-thought it in the beginning - I didn't know if it would be weird? But I totally love it. I'm on board with all of these looks.

I had this exact problem, and solved it by ditching the existing boxes. Everything fit into these nice, plain, white boxes (from Ikea, for paper storage), which I was able to label using cut-outs from the old boxes. http://doggieeyes.blogspot.com/2011/06/board.html

I haven't been in any trinities that have had elevators put in. Sounds interesting!
As far as finding a trinity in Philly, your best bet is either craigslist (with "trinity" in the search box, and your maximum price listed.)
Some neighborhoods to search in that aren't especially student-y are those others have listed - Queen Village, Washington Square, Nothern Liberties, Society Hill, Bella Vista. For $1500 you should be able to find a good one bedroom at least, but I have no experience with the elevator part, that might be a whole different game.

Hmm, yeah. I feel like there would be an uproar if a non-lived in house won. Maybe should have waited and submitted next year?

Aside from that, it's a cool place. I agree with some other commenters though, the furniture set up is a little wonky, like a model apartment. I get the feeling that once it's lived in for a few months, some pieces might migrate around the apartment.
