I did a RAST this year too! With leather handles. http://doggieeyes.blogspot.com/2012/01/rast.html

So many good RASTs out there!

Yeah, I agree with above. It would have been way better to read a review!

One in my mailbox, one under the doormat. You'd need them both to get in. (I guess I'm not too scared about it!)

I feel like you never ever hear stories of "this house was broken into because a burglar found the spare key!" - does that happen?

Look into using sofa legs - they might not be as slim, but might be worth investigating.

Some wall mounted shelves (LACK for instance) have internal hardware that looks like that.

I like it. It's funny and weird - definitely more interesting than some mass-produced stuff from kids rooms!

I like it a lot, but mostly only for a single girl, living alone. It's such a bold decorating move that I can't imagine imposing it on a significant other or roommate.

That being said: I AM a single girl, living alone, and I just wallpapered my kitchen in peonies. And I love it.

Super cute.

The dining table looks tricky though - is it hard to actually eat on it? The glass looks as though it's inset kind of deep - how do plate balancing work out? Do you just set them inside the wooden lip? Just curious. Either way, it looks great.

The lighthouse seemed super cool, until I read the part about the foghorn blasting every 15 seconds.

Houseboat though? In a second.

Just be thankful it's not carpeting.

Curtain replacing closet doors sounds great (and in my experience isn't even a thing that landlords notice). And if I were you, yeah. I'd paint everything white. It might be one of those "better to ask forgiveness than permission" situations.

Ha, JefferyK - I was thinking the same thing. There's a lot of ways to see a show (it would have been less weird to just say something like "I don't watch Hoarders, but..."
I guess people will just always love talking about not having a tv!

That said, good tips here (and in the comments). Some we've heard a hundred times, and some we haven't.

I feel like it looks like a dorm/office/waiting room textile pattern. Not into it.

And what is an "experimental fabric"? It makes me think of something technologically advanced or something, but I'm not getting that. What's it mean?

I have one in my bathroom. I kind of over-thought it in the beginning - I didn't know if it would be weird? But I totally love it. I'm on board with all of these looks.

Love the parasols.
And lucky you not having to worry about the weather wrecking them! They'd be a mess in most yards.

hmm. I like the "no legs" part, but also like to have options - like moving the table for a kitchen dance party, or sliding it out to accommodate more diners, or using a pretty vintage tablecloth.
I'm glad it works for you though! Seems like it'd be a hard fix if it didn't.

I had this exact problem, and solved it by ditching the existing boxes. Everything fit into these nice, plain, white boxes (from Ikea, for paper storage), which I was able to label using cut-outs from the old boxes. http://doggieeyes.blogspot.com/2011/06/board.html
