He IS adorable. And although it's not my style, I think he did an amazing job, giving the home clean lines yet making it look cozy. Designer Spotlight: Jeremiah Brent The Rachel Zoe Project |

I too love the clean lines of Shaker furniture and homes. And for those interested in feeding your real estate fantasies or maybe even realizing them, there's an authentic Shaker seed house for sale in Tyringham, MA, which is the location of one of the original Shaker communities. "A bit pricey," I'll say. More like a huge ripoff. Tons of doorknobs that are going nowhere because most are close to 100 bucks. Besides the ridiculous price tags, you have to contend with a surly, defensive proprietor. Restoration Resources: Architectural Salvage Store |

My 75-pound golden thinks the bed is his. It's a traditional double bed, and he likes to be in the middle, which makes it impossible to sleep in when he's in it. And when I make him get off, he has this sad and confused expression on his face that I do my best to ignore. The Best Piece Of Furniture According To Your Pets |

I never understood the appeal of a murphy bed, unless you need a large, open expanse of floorspace during the day and a bed at night. The murphy bed cabinet is a useless piece of furniture when it's folded up. At least with a sleep sofa, you have a place to sit when it's folded up. Although the cheaper sleep sofas can be uncomfortable to sleep on, the higher quality, more expensive models are quite comfortable. I know, I slept on one for years. Please explain why you would replace solid-wood white cabinets for what I'm guessing are not-solid-wood white cabinets. It also seems that storage space was lost by installing that stove. Seems a similar effect could have been achieved, while saving a lot of money, by just replacing the counters and doing some painting. (JMO) Before & After(s): Ashley's Two Stage Kitchen Reno |
