If it is serious enough to be living together, then find a place as a couple and both names are on the lease that way if things go South, you are both protected because if you do not add him to the lease and you break up, you are the one w/ the liability! What about taking a leave from your job if you are that nervous and is there a ring in the future? A big move in life w/ out a serious commitment. What risk is he taking? Also make the space work for both of you and it needs major organization which will help a lot. Check out all the 2 function furniture out there like tables that flatten, couches that fold up from a bed, etc. And if it is an area that US dollar goes further, move to the “us” home. I suggest you paint a junky board and try to remove the paint. Once you do that, you will not want to paint the wood! The decor can be changed but the wood, once painted, will be a nightmare to change back. Help My Mom Decide: The Great Wood Paneling Debate |

Wow! I am very impressed. This site has had some rather uninteresting home tours for quite a while now. What I like the most about this tour, is that it is definitely a home. You have items that clearly represent your life & family. I can't stand the cookie cutter "be calm" types and you certainly did not fit into that category. Cudos. I have the exact same desk my grandfather built it - it will never change b/c it is beautiful. I am cracking up on the whole mommy issue. I work w/ a woman that refers to herself as mommy all the time and it gets really annoying, she even refers to herself as mommy at work. The black shutters look great. You need to check out the somewhat recent post of the house that had the railings painted to match the door.
