WOW. To all of those berating Sarah Rae for her use of defining this water enhancer as healthy you should be ashamed. No, artificial enhancers are NOT necessarily healthy... but for someone who is say...diabetic.. and can not ingest any natural sugars, this is a wonderful and "healthier" alternative.
Some people do not have the luxury of being able to ingest all "natural" foods. I myself am missing a protein on my DNA strand and am unable to process many uncooked vegetables like cucumber and melon.
Thank you Sarah for helping out all of those who can't follow the typical definition in "healthy" foods and beverages.

How I Made Two 10-Foot Christmas Trees In An Evening

Hi, this is Jennifer whose house had sewer back-up. I agree that flood insurance is great and I will be adding it to my policy. I didn't feel the need to add it back when we bought the house because I didn't feel that the surrounding creeks could possibly flood all the way to our home.... I did however put on sewage backup protection...and thank goodness I did!

At our home we have a drain right outside the garage door, and another one inside. When the city sewer systems began to back up it pooled about 3 ft. deep in our driveway outside the garage, and bubbled up in the basement a good 3 ft. as well. At first they weren't going to cover us, thinking that the drain from outside had flooded into the house through the garage door. It wasn't until we showed video of it bubbling up from the drain inside that we could claim it as sewer backup (even though, technically they both were since they were both from the same main pipe!)

In our case, the sewer backup was solid human waste. You couldn't see through the "water" and we were literally washing away human feces while cleaning. We put on rubber boots and started hauling things into the driveway either throwing them away or piling up for cleanup if it was salvagable....we hosed everything down with water and then went through and sprayed a bleach solution onto the floor, walls and items that were touched. All around...a disgusting situation....but with all the photos and materials we prepared for the adjustor we got our full coverage amount back and he even absorbed our $1000 deductible and added on an extra 5% for removal since it wasn't just water... so we came out pretty lucky!!!

This is an absolutely gorgeous room! You can tell that so much love went into putting this little space together that the room seems to be busting at the seams! Yes, you could have gone out and blown a budget on matching yellow blankets, toys and wallcolor but when Tessa is able to make her own choices she may decide that split-pea soup green is more her style! My favorite things from when I was little, that still decorate my home today aren't the big stuffed animals or fancy "lead-free" toys. The things I love are the metal airplane from my grandfather, the little pewter lamb from my father, the baby blanket that was my sisters before mine and handpainted by an old family friend.
This is a room that you can sit in with Tessa and tell her stories about how all of the things have come to be there. Absolutely beautiful, flawless and a room that every parent should try to have for their kids! ....instead of picking a page in pottery barn and saying, "I want that."

LOVE IT!

its not the stereo system, it's the recording studio. But he says "good man!" to someone who can recognize them without any branding!

The headboard was made using 3 pegboard panels, thin strips of foam and upholstery fabric. We mainly just used spray adhesive and since we used the pegboard we didn't have to nail through it. We just put the nails on the wall and hung the panels like a picture frame on the wall. :)
The shower curtain I actually found at Linens & Things! It was exactly what I was looking for, and I thought i'd have to pay a heavy price at anthropologie or Crate & Barrell. Lucky me, I even had a 50% off coupon!

My boyfriend Spencer painted it. It took him a full month to paint. Isn't it absolutely fantastic? :)

I can't stop until i'm completely unpacked! In my first day I had my entire kitchen/bathroom stocked and all of my clothes in their places. A few throw pillows and candles were even pulled out to make it feel homey while I finished up in the next few days.

You people are insane, a chinese delivery man is a person who delivers chinese food. it has nothing to do with ethnic steriotyping, unless you think that the phrase "chinese food" is offensive, even though it is in face food that originated in china. Are people really so terrified of offending that they see a race written out and immediatly go up in arms? I would assume that anyone who wrote on that comment has at one time said something along the lines of ,"I wish the chinese delivery guy would get here soon", when they are waiting on their general tso's to arrive!

Why don't you use your time and effort to come up with 4 new design ides PER DAY and type them up! Then we'll see just how closely you are able to evaluate each thing you type while still having a life!

I loved Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs as a kid!

A newer book that I have been drawn to for years is "The Mixed-up Zoo of Professor Yahoo" I read it when I was baby-sitting and had to get a copy for myself. Beautiful/fun/vibrant illustrations and a truly wonderful story! I can't find a photograph of the cover anywhere...but it's a truly fantastic book.

Great first post!!! Sometimes design can become so cluttered when you look at the whole picture. I like that things can be simplified by looking at the small picture before attempting the large. :)

Good post. I would have liked to have seen some more photos of his restored pieces though, rather than just bolsters of fabric and rows of books.
