I am so jealous of your music studio - my husband's a drummer, I love his band jamming here, but we have a small house and his kit alone takes up half the living room. Also, I have always wanted to learn silks, it looks like so much fun!

Your house is just charming, very colourful and friendly looking. It reminds me of a larger version of my place, so it gives me hope that we can make it nice and welcoming too :-)

I chose Sweet Vibrations - it is bold, but in a big space like yours I think it would add a fantastic vibe without being overwhelming. It makes the artwork really pop, and I could see it forming a stunning contrast with the more traditional rug. I still quite like the original Keep Calm and Carry On poster, because of the history behind it and the message. I do get annoyed by the seemingly endless, and often meaningless, copies. As mentioned above: Keep Calm and Argh Matey? It makes no sense!

But some people think they're fun or funny, and they're entitled to like them. I may disagree, and even find some of them stupid or even a bit offensive, but that's purely my own opinion. If we all liked exactly the same stuff it would be boring.

One thing I find that helps me stay on track is allowing myself "controlled distractions". I have a list notebook that is open to a page with ideas for what I can do between stories (I'm a journalist), so I have no excuses to have nothing to do.

But behind that, I have a list of ideas - anything that pops into my head, whether it's an idea for a children's story, or something to do with the house, so that I can follow up on it in my own time.

It stops that feeling of "oh, but I might forget, I'll just have a quick look at X", which can easily lead to a long period of procrastination from doing my actual work.

I'm a woman, and a fairly feminine one at that, and I love this apartment. That photo in the entry is stunning, and I love the deep, rich colours and the textures used. Also, Mrs Smith could simply be working in a different city :-)

Ron appears to have achieved what he set out to create - a non-primary, inner city residence for a young professional couple with no children. That type of design wouldn't work in other scenarios (such as my suburban, cottage-style, small family home), but for what it is it looks pretty perfect to me!

So much wow! I think the after is incredible, even moreso for all the DIY work that went into it. I've been looking at ways to cut down costs to remodel our kitchen, so I may have to look at some of these ideas.

I love the bench top, such a clever idea and sealing to keep crumbs out of the gaps should make it easy to care for too.

I love this house! It is so warm and welcoming I feel like I could pop around with cookies just to say hello. Pity I'm on the wrong continent... and in the wrong hemisphere. I would love to bring some of this atmosphere to my own home!

Shiny! I love that a few coats of paint have taken something faded and old (but in good condition) and made it look new again. The custom decals are a really cute idea too.

Normally I don't like girl-pink, but they've picked really nice shades for both the pink and purple. It looks great!
