Cobalt, The iron is a Maytag. I bought mine about 5 years ago and it's still going strong.

I just had my bathroom and closet re-done. Wanted a chandelier in the closet but, codes will be codes. The only lighting allowed in a closet is ceiling fixture that touches the ceiling. Low hanging fixtures, sconces, etc. are fire hazards.
Bummer but, would be of a bummer if my closet burned.

Go to the library and check out the quilting section.
You'll be able to find templates and color ideas for the 3D effect.

Help. I have some items I want to buy from Ikea but don't want to haul it home.

Is there a service that provides this type of delivery?

I'm in a Chicago suburb and would be buying from the Bolingbrook Ikea.

Thanks.

Where did you originally get the picture to post? I love it!
Is the black figure part of it or just the lines?

OMG! my dad went to St. Johns College. When he died we were going thru all his books. It's been 3 years and we still have his St. J's classics. I love books but have no qualms about getting rid of them, except for those.
I can remember coming home on cold days and sitting atop the floor heater...right by the bookcase. Letting my skirt fill up with warm air and paging thru those books.

I never thought it possible to fall in love with a lamp. The first time I saw "spun" (at DWR) ... I swooooned. Great lamp and to get it below retail. Cool! I've searched the web and that lamp is the same price everywhere.

Are you at all handy? Or know someone who is?

On the cover of dominomag.com is a fab red cabinet. The cabinet is being used in a dining room but, I don't see why it couldn't be used as chest.

Or, maybe, you could get the Malm paint it and some how attach them to the wall like the domino mag pic. LOL Easier said than done....I'm sure.

clickchick...have you tried Room and Board for a sofa?

R&B might not be in your budget but, they have floor sales or as is sales. IMO R&B gives you more bang for your buck.

After looking at a closeup, looks like 2 pieces are cut and glued with a thin wire running down the center.

I would try doing it this way: (I could be way of base with this, though) buy 2 sided thin fusible facing, or spray glue and thin wire. Cut out 2 shapes, wrong sides together.
Now make your "sandwich" 1. 1 shape right side out
2. fusible 3. wire 4. second shape 5. iron if using glue,
don't iron. Leave part of the wire out so you can wrap it around the filament. OR you could try using filament instead of wire.

I was going to suggest using sheets. Make a giant "bag" and
slip the futon in. But, after rereading your comment, I guess that wouldn't exactly be a well fitting slip cover.

Do you sew? You could check out pattern books at Joanns fabric or any fabric store. I recently did that and was surprised at the patterns available. It's worth a shot.

Is there a cover already on the futon? You could take the fabric off and use that for your pattern.

Cherry wood darkens with age. If you put the new knobs on eventually the wood around them will darken, also.

....at least I hope so.

Hey Vic242

Are you looking for acrylic or something along the lines of acetate sheets?

You might check www.dickblick.com they have a variety of acetates and plastics. Hope this helps.

What are you working on?
