I agree! Reading the description of "chat" in the first chapter of the Namesake was one of my many inspirations to book a ticket to India. Crunchy, spicy, limey and toasty.... Although it's an obvious choice, I would like to see something from Marcel Proust... the strawberries and the madeleines. When I was a teenager, I read Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh and loved the description of Rex Mottram and Charles Ryder sharing a meal in Paris. Although Mottram is wealthy, his palate is unrefined. I want to see the duck, the sole, and the caviar blinis.
