I use one by Jena and never had a problem with my baked goods sticking. I think they recommend slightly lower heat, but I've never really bothered. I've had it for over 20 years and used it plenty of times.

It is the best cake pan ever. I use it all the time for French yogurt cakes, upside down cakes, etc. Also for just everything else. The cat has decided it's the home of all food and tries to make a beeline for it whenever she sees it.

My parents are TERRIBLE cooks, so no, but everyone calls me constantly for all kinds of advice and recipes.

There is a nice recipe for pumpkin capellacci with sage butter in Celebrating Italy by Carol Field. I make it a lot. You can easily make ravioli instead of the capellacci - they're a bit easier.

I found a jellied lizard in a jar of fig jam. I wondered what the "stick" on my toast was and it turned out to be a lizard tail. The people at the store were very unkind and insisted on giving me credit instead of a refund (something I would fight these days).

I agree with slowdown. It makes me think of Taxi Driver where Robert Dinero's character has a sign that says "one of these days I'm gonna get organizized."

This used to be my favorite, but now I eat Oak Leaf lettuce, if I can get it (or when I have a garden, grow it). It's really lovely, and I think has a nicer flavor. Of course I still eat bibb when nothing else is available.

I keep all my plants in high places, except the streptocarpus, which seems not to have a treat vibe. It would be nice to have flowers on the table instead of a shelf, but my cat reacts to a vase of tulips like it's an open can of tuna. Her other big favorite is clear tape, so Christmas and birthdays can be difficult to prepare for.

I have a Leifheit and was so happy to get it, since I make jam and pie frequently during cherry season. As mentioned, it's also great for olives. I hate having a lot of gadgets and have very few, but I've never ever regretted this one.

I use a vintage steamer trunk for my dresser. It cost only $20, looks beautiful and I've had it for years. The one in the picture looks really dreary, I think.

These are the best. I've advocated them for years. So much better than food that tastes like lighter fluid. I'm not sure why more people don't use them.

What a really gorgeous home. Thanks so much for sharing it. I usually just glance through thumbnails on these tours, but I've looked at all your photos again and again. I'm aghast that people can look at something so personal and lovely and think only of dusting.

. . . and then there are my parents. Cellar to attic stuff - it's really horrific, and I know we're going to be the ones to deal with it. One the bright side, a visit to their house always makes me even neater than usual.

I love to use my beautiful things. I would rather use them than fret about stains or breakage. My mother is the opposite and has candles that are older than I am. I just don't see the point.
