I loves me a bourbon old fashioned made with maple syrup!

small bit of orange peel (optional)
1/2 oz Grade-A real maple syrup
3-4 dashes Angostura bitters
2 oz bourbon (I like Four Roses)

Muddle orange peel, maple syrup, and bitters in a chilled old fashioned glass.
Discard the orange peel.
Add couple ice cubes to the glass, pour in the bourbon and give it a little stir.
Garnish with a twist of orange peal and a cherry or just enjoy it as it is.

Ugh! that's the worst! I just finished retiling our kitchen floor a couple of weekends ago. The floor came out beautifully and all of the base board has been put back. A couple of days after I finished, I notice one of the tiles had a bit of a gap (this is glue down VCT tile we're talking about). The next day it was even worse. By the end of the week, the tile had slide so much that there was a 1/4" gap. It's driving me crazy but I'm so burnt out on that project that I can't bring myself to pulling it up, cutting a new tile to fit better, and then re-gluing. It would probably only take me a half hour to do. I'll get to it eventually I guess.

Anyone who picks out a paint color based on the name is an idiot.

Congrats to the winner(s). However, I don't get why the judges think this is so innovative. There are lots of compact and packable laptop stands out there already. Not so sure what makes this one different from the rest.
Also, Judging from the video these guys made, it seems like this would have been better suited for a Kickstarter campaign where they could get funding to bring their product to market rather than AT's competition where all they'll get is free advertising.

I'm really starting to doubt AT readers' taste levels.

Huh??? I don't get it. I'm all for modern, but this seems to overcomplicate something that's already dead simple.

Both of my parents were big time DIYer. My mom always joked that she knew it was time to move to a new house when all of the walls had drywall on them and there wasn't any exposed plywood on the floor. My brothers and I were always helping with the various projects that went on in our home.
The funny thing is, even though my parents still can't be happy unless there is at least one project happening in the house, as soon as my youngest brother moved out, they stopped doing things themselves and started hiring contractors!

Thyme. Use it in just about everything.
