I was really into Illuminations, until this company killed them. Not only do not care for these candles, but the jars look something you would pick up in the everything is $1 store.

A friend of mine's husband has one just like the the "old" in the pic, and when they were getting ready to go on their trip, I remember thinking, "that looks like hell."

But this looks like fun place to trip and rest! Fabulous job!

I just got a ceiling fan in my VERY warm Southern home, it was a reversible color one so I could have silver or black blades, but painting them the color of the ceiling as one poster sounds like something good to do. I've never had one in my bedroom before, it has really been lulling me to sleep.

Chavelle, I held onto way too many clothes for a while fearing I would miss something if I let it go. Really, I don't remember anything I put in the bags and wound up giving to Goodwill. If you've had the pieces 10 years, you got your money's worth, just let them go. I think even having a room like that would subtly cause you stress. If you have a consignment shop nearby, spend a day getting the clothing ready and take them, THAT DAY. Get your camera out and take pictures of what you want to sell and get it on the web THAT DAY. Make a couple of bags for Goodwill just to get stuff out, and take it THAT DAY. Dragging it out only makes it more painful. Make a list, and gradually it will get done, the important thing is just to get started. It doesn't sound like you should be worried that you may have the beginning of a mental illness, unless maybe you struggle with mild depression. You just have an awful lot on your plate, in a difficult situation. Good luck.

I stopped coming around for a while after AT became the "mommy and me' blog so I'm late here, but I love the reno. Pink everywhere is just visually unpleasing to me, throw in peach and it was just gagtastic.. I much prefer the cleaned up, nicer lines of everything.

@Vanilla, loved that lace link and the super cute blog!

But since the problem here is the door, something super cheap to try without a lot of fuss or expense, would be the thin draping that pools at the floor also mentioned above.

Won't solve the kid problem, but that sounds like a baby gate deal which unfortunately are a total pain in the...

In the spirit of the porn post, maybe you could send her an edible arrangement of cucumbers to keep her busy, when her husband takes the other child off her hands for the afternoon. That is the direction you're trying to head this blog right?

@Kosta, believe it or not, some of our jobs have issues with employees visiting sites that have adult content and anything involving that arena isn't worth visiting, for the risk that it carries, no matter how small. Head on over to Houzz to see what a real home and design blog should look like. Do you see any articles there about what to do when your partner is fantasizing about someone else? If you don't see that, ask yourself why.

I'm fine with stretching AT to include non-traditional design/living advice, sharing your space issues, cohabitating with difficult space/noise issues with roomies or loved ones advice, or variations of complicated living issues even, but this is just into the absurd territory.

I'm not anti-porn in the least and very laid back on that subject, but that's absolutely not what I'm coming to this site for. Salon suits all my erotic questions advice needs, and being bombarded with sex simply for wanting to look at homes and design is VERY annoying and really unacceptable for that matter.

I hope you have heard us loud and clear, and it would be nice to get a response back from the editorial people at AT, and on whether or not this is something you plan on keeping up.

Hmmm... Isn't the purpose of a bathmat to dry your tosies and keep water off the floor? The first pic shows it dripping on the floor. This doesn't seem very functional to me, but maybe there's something I'm missing.

Lurves it! It would have never occurred to me to put in the pink faucet, but it totally works, and the shower transformation is awesome.

For those that were saying this was fine before... There's fine, and then there's absolutely wow factor, and loving something. Part of making a home yours is designing it around your style, and what makes you happy. I would say the before and after have absolutely no comparison. After wins easily.

Before & After: A Fresh Bathroom Remodel

Unless they did this for free, this is unacceptable. My parents spent a dramatic amount of money getting all new kitchen cabinets. About 2 years after the install, ALL the beige cabinets started to subtly turn pink. They sent someone out to refinish them, which made the whole house darn near unlivable due to fumes, and it still didn't fix it. They had already had new counters and back splash done with the original new cabinetry, so were hesitant to insist on new cabinets out of fear of damaging them. But ultimately after ONLY 2 years, they were all pulled out and replaced.

DEMAND these people make it right.

Wow, there are some seriously judgmental people here.

One of the happiest couples I know is quite content with the separate arrangement. Both in their late 40, both divorced prior and already owned houses. It's not for everyone, but why be so nasty "discerning?"

I think the people opposed to this idea, are actually the ones that need to look at their relationship, not the other way around. I'm completely secure in my relationship that I don't need him under my thumb every minute. Why do you need to know your spouses whereabouts, every single second, of every single day?

Me and my Mister have completely different body clocks. I'm an early riser with a bundle of energy from the minute I roll out of bed, and he doesn't fully wake up til 11, coffee required, and still quite cranky. Different bedrooms at least seems like a great solution if you can afford the space to accommodate everyone and everything.

I know of a couple of couples doing the separate bedrooms thing, though most are a bit embarrassed to admit it, and after reading some of the comments here, I see why.

So creative, and you can tell a lot of thought of thought went into making it functional as well as cute, like the light next to the handmade closets, and the bed. Great stripes and that chandelier totally works there also. One of a kind.
