Polishing a wire basket can be done with appropriate polishing compound and a handy dremel (ask a neighbor if you don't have one). Use a bullet shaped pad or flat pad on the dremel to scrub the wire with ease. Roundup: Vintage Wire Baskets & Ways to Use Them |

I have the same amount of space here in Los Angeles and with a murphy bed, I really have no reason to move. It's all the space I really need. That said, it's not a space a family could find happiness but for a single writer gal such as myself, it's perfect. It's also in a courtyard setting where, because we're all jammed in with the same square footage, there's a lot of "got a cup a sugar" friendliness here. And that's not a euphemism. I did this with my chairs because they were taking up too much room in my studio. The table I have is a drop leaf/ gate-leg so it serves as a sofa table when not in use. The folding chairs were found abandoned on the street and I replaced the fabric. They now hang in the kitchen on simple two prong coat hooks I found at the hardware store.
