What a sweet shop! I love all the tools of the trade.

For those of you in Portland, you should check out my sister's millinery shop. She's been doing it for close to 30 years and she's wonderful! She's featured in a display window at the PDX airport right now, too. (I'm proud).

I use mine for all of my tools, sander, drill and odds and ends for fixing things around the house. It rolls away easily into a closet. I love it.

Daniel of Manhattan Nest had a great Ikea hack for a bedroom light I found right here on Apartment Therapy. If you follow the link, you'll see he got some really colorful cord online for super cheap. Comes in all colors. You can start here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/daniels-brilliant-ikea-frck-ha-153589

I agree with a lot of the comments about grouping these neighborhoods a bit differently. Formerly lived on Queen Anne, now a very happy resident of Phinney Ridge/Greenwood. Or Phinneywood, as some of the locals are trying to go for.
Love the new Fred Meyer, too!

Such a great improvement! Not only to the tile, but also to going from an under to an over, for the toilet paper. ;)

I'm with StudioStarter. I love my Corona from Macy's, although I think it's discontinued. I just looked on the Macy's site, and the Clare and Jillian look almost identical to it. They're both on sale for $699.

I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time ever in my new place this year. I'd scrambled in the few months prior to find a dining table and chairs from craigslist, and found a gorgeous table on a Saturday, and West Elm chairs on a Sunday, same weekend.

Then, just a couple days before the big day, I found a great dining room pendant light. When I installed it, the dimmer switch didn't work on it so the light was stuck on its highest wattage. Not only that, but for some reason it wouldn't turn off either!

As soon as my guests left, I got up there and yanked that thing out. So yes, I would love to win this.

As a former smoker, I totally get it that it's lovely to be able to go out on your balcony to enjoy a cigarette and a glass off wine. But as a former smoker, I live above someone who does this and the secondhand smoke wafting into my place smells disgusting.
I didn't want to have to take away this pleasure from my downstairs neighbor, but I did ask for a compromise, like a smokeless ashtray.

I don't know what she did, but I haven't smelled it since.

It's lovely.

A several of the first comments today in different posts have all been snarky and negative. What is that about.

If you can't pour a self-leveling concrete, you could use some similar decking tiles like the ones in your link. They have them at Ikea, and they look great! http://goo.gl/z4HHK

I replaced the toilet seat when I moved into my new condo. But only because it was original to the place (1979) and was cracked and discolored.
Now it's so pretty.

I finally wised up and started wearing my noise canceling headphones at home. I had two snowboarding dudes living overhead. One you couldn't hear at all. The other? He had pistons for legs. He just did not get the concept of walking normally and not stomping wherever he walked. "I'm just trying to live my liiiiife, man!".

The headphones helped beautifully until I moved.

I had a one bedroom apartment in a small apt. building in Seattle, right on the Ship Canal between Ballard and Fremont. It had a large deck with an unobstructed view of the water, parking, storage and a big bedroom, for 725. I only moved because I bought a condo.
