I'm horrified to read that some people are THAT protective of their super secret special recipes. It is a joy to share a cherished recipe with someone I love so that they can make it for someone that they love. My recipe book is made up of Ian's mom's pizza dough, Oma's soup, Grandma's yoyos, my best friend Steph's ginger cookies. Steph often makes my mother-in-law's meat sauce. Sharing doesn't take anything away from a recipe - it improves it by multiplying the happiness it brings.

I use it as breading for chicken fingers. Great crunch, great flavour, beautiful colour - way more fun than boring breadcrumbs.

Isabella, you have my deepest sympathies for the backsplash. Welcome to the kitchen in my house (oh yes, there will be renovations... one day): http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2400/2223721490_023c66ae76_o.jpg

I just finished making some beautiful cranberry oat muffins with some fresh cranberries. A loaf like yours could definitely help me use up the rest of the bag. YUM.

I use my electric knife primarily for slicing my homemade bread. I find that it makes perfect, even slices that are far better than my efforts with a regular knife.

Since we just bought our first home, I'm living with a less-than-ideal fridge for the forseeable future (it's small, and the only organized storage consists of 2 opaque crisper drawers that don't slide very well).

To make it easier to live with our fridge in the short-term, we bought a few clear bins (like these) that we use to keep the fridge contents streamlined and visible. At the moment, we're using one for cheese, one for meat, and one for extra vegetables. They're stackable and dishwasher-safe, so we end up with a tidy-looking fridge that's easy to clean. Plus, it's nice to just grab the 'drawer' I need instead of having to hunt around the shelves.
