For scheduling, I use MS Outlook (business) and GCal (personal) but I sync the two to my iPod Touch so I can see everything at once.

I also have an artwork calendar in my kitchen and one published by my company in my office. I also have a very large fifteen-months-at-a-glance calendar in my office, which is handy since I am an accountant and must constantly refer to dates in other months.

I've had a very similar knife block for three years (I first saw the idea in Domino); I use a rectangular glass vase. I have had no problems with splintering, cleaning, or dead bugs.

I live in a miniature townhouse and my banister is a U-shaped piece of steel. I attach a binder clip to one edge and flip up the silver "arm" to hold up each stocking.

I suggest the bright green pothos (I have a lovely one in my windowless office) or the purple and green wandering Jew (I have them in several dark nooks). Both are easy to grow or start from cuttings, just break or cut off a piece and put it in a pretty bottle. I keep three pothos cuttings in my office in individual clear bottles (planting them in the potted one and taking new cuttings as necessary) and get lots of compliments.

When I began using Sleep Cycle, I set the alarm for my usual 5:15. After being awakened at 4:45 a couple times, I set it for 5:30 and set my back-up alarm clock for 5:15. This essentially cuts the "wake-up window" down to just 15 minutes, which is perfect for me. (Yes, I know some readers will think I'm OCD for having a second clock, but my nightmares usually involve accidentally sleeping through class or work.)

Megan, I wondered the same thing! According to the date on the screenshot, though, this was last night.

Good post, although I enjoyed the reader comments more! I like the smell of matches or a soy candle but not air freshener, always close the toilet lid before flushing, and agree that the toilet paper goes over, not under.

If you want a different design, you can also use contact paper to create your own self-adhesive "stencil" to spray paint over. Just draw, trace, or print your simple design onto the paper backing and cut it out.
