How does the soap get shaved in the first photo, wouldn't you need to press down on it with as you are shaving?

D. Porthault is my favorite but I don't own a single set. Most of my bedding suits me fine and is all the luxury I need. I sometimes think we fret over things that in the end, do not make that much of an impact on our overall quality of life. In fact, for me, buying $1K sheets would impact my life negatively!

My husband owns 3 vintage suitcases and though they are not stacked they are in his office being used as storage. He has one on top of a cabinet, the other on top of his bookcase, and the third beneath his seating.

That is lovely, though the pattern looks a bit strong when cast on the walls/ceiling at night though I can't tell if it's the photography, bulb or the fact that everything else is off. Perhaps a dimmer switch and a lower watt bulb would do the trick.

I just hung out with Katja Behre during the holidays, she is a great lady -- very talented and lots of fun.

I agree about lovely Jeanine, she is definitely going places.

Here in Germany I like:

They both carry lots of American designers and also others from Europe plus they speak English and have great websites.

This is such a cute space, I like the quirky accents and all that happy color. Their bedroom reminds me of my grandparents bedroom, almost exactly the same decor and colors but in a fresh, modern way of course. This is charming!

I featured Alvhem back in June, there is a gorgeous apartment that was for sale on their site that was absolutely breathtaking -- and a beautiful example of how well a small city apartment can be decorated and organized in a very BIG way...

This totally reminds me of where Bruce Willis lived in The Fifth Element.

Love it.

It's very nice, the bathroom is my favorite and I love the layered bedding in the first photo, the duvet on top of the spreads, so original.

Love those. I'd paint the base white or black though.

I have a $2,000 sofa from Room and Board and after 3 months I noticed saggy sofa syndrome. After nearly a year, I see it big time and I fluff and flip them daily. It's very depressing to say the least. It's definitely the construction of the cushions and the fabric. I had to return my first sofa from them as it arrived with a broken leg and squeaky frame, so I'm not about to write to them to ask for a replacement for this one. I guess I just need to watch less television and sit on the floor!

Rebecca is at the top of my list of people I'd love to have lunch with someday. What a creative lady -- I have followed her work for several years and do a drive by over at her website at least once monthly hoping to spot new work.

In addition to overflowing talent, she is also very nice surprisingly down-to-earth and I say surprisingly because let's face it -- most with this level of talent may do good work but aren't always the nicest/easiest people to work with. Rebecca is a package deal -- talented, humble and charming!
