Actually NYKate, meadow rue, while it looks similar, is in a whole different plant. It is Thalictrium. Thalictrium's fluffy appearance comes from stamens, they lack petals, and it belongs to the Ranunculaceae family (think buttercups) not the Rosaceae.Also-it is probably much more likely to be invasive in your garden then the Filipendula. Which is beautiful, btw. Great post that has me wishing I didn't live so far south! Queen Of The Prairie: Nature's Cotton Candy |

We have the Antilop and it has been fine. Although it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, it is cheap, and easy to clean. We do, however, find ourselves tripping over it quite often. This is due to the angle of the legs, which provides a more stable base for the chair. I haven't seen the Blames in person, but it looks like it has a similar leg angle. We're remodeling our kitchen, too. And the advice we are getting is to stay neutral with the tiles and do what you want with the paint. I am wondering what floor tiles you have down, though. They are fantastic. Backsplash Suggestions for Kitchen Renovation? Good Questions |

Love the photo wall & the tile in the bathroom is stellar. Can't believe that is the original light fixture in the kitchen. Genius. What is the paint in the bedroom? Alexis and Rob's BoMo House in the Hills House Tour |

I would say prepare to be a little pushy and outspoken, if this is out of your normal comfort zone. Both my husband and I are pretty easy-going folks, and I feel like at least one of us (okay--him) should have been prepared to speak up more. Once you are in hospital-land, there is a lot of pressure to do things their way, even if it goes against the mother's desires. I think it would be great to mentally prepare to be a real advocate for your friends wishes. Also, I don't have a book recommendation (I had bradley method handbook), but definitely read something to educate yourself about the phases of labor, you'll want to know all about transition, that is the beast! I fully agree with most about the alternative spellings. Names are usually spoken, and correcting everyone's assumption of the spelling your whole life seems super annoying to me. That said, I understand the urge to name your child something unique. And as much as I struggled to come up with what I felt was a perfect name (my daughter is Ellery), there is no predicting future trends. My mom was ahead of the curve with both me and my sister, and both names became popular about 10 years later. I once visited a new doctor who told me "I thought you'd be younger". I had just turned 30. Ouch. Hottest Baby Name Trends of 2010 | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

Ooh, I love this! So nice to see a departure from the cookie-cutter Oeuf crib and wall decals. And the fabric birdhouse on the wall is a great addition to the bird mobile (which, if I'm not mistaken is based on the pattern from Spool Sewing!). Excellent room!
