This apartment is so very, very Portland: old, thrifty, loved and stylish. J'adore! Dane & Leah's Craigslist Kingdom Small Cool Contest |

936 isn't small! I really am usually only interested in the smaller submission, but Adam, kudos to you. What a lovely, lovely (and livable) space. Très jolie. Adam's Afternoon Light Small Cool Contest |

Austin is the only place in Texas that I think I would like to live, but I'm from Portland. I would actually love to split my seasons between here and there. Sometimes I miss the sun, like right now. :( The Whip-In: Keeping Austin Weird Well-Designed Travel |

I really like the lighting and the space. Kudos to you guys. I do not, though, understand how you can do it without rugs. I just crave them on my feet in the winters! Brian & Kerry's Brewery Loft House Tour |

We freeze gnocchi all the time. I also love (in the summer) to fill ice cubes with minced garlic, lemon juice/peel, basil, and olive oil for quick pesto cubes to put on pasta. Vegetarian Meals That Freeze Well?Recipe Questions |

This is a lovely redesign, but I think my favorite part are the red chairs in the first before photo. They are stunning. Before & After: Family Room from Dark to Light |

Have a regular bed be it separated by a divider, loft, or murphy bed. In my experience (as interior designer) I've never found a sofa bed that would work for day to day sleeping for years on end. Regular, Daybed or Sofabed for Studio? Good Questions |

@Patmac, I'm with you. We used old towels, rags and linen napkins in place of paper towels. It seems to work well for us. I live in Portland and we have a place called the "Bins". It is where Goodwill takes it's leftovers and sells by the pound. So cheap and I love the thrill of the hunt. I've been napping in my car at lunch, from time to tima, as needed, for YEARS. Set my cellphone alarm, put the seat back and cover my eyes with a scarf (I keep for this reason) and after I am so much more refreshed for work. I'm in the design industry and I can testify to a casual car nap boosting my creativity. How to Nap (No, Really!) |

@pileofkittens that's not really true. savethesheep.com has some information. it's still exploitation and often they are hurt in the process. Double Inspiration: Rugs InteriorsAustralia | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
