Went to a restaurant in Cape Town called Bombay Bicycle Club that had a (much more DIY) swing table. Funny time making reservations when they replied: "Do you mind sitting at the swing table?" Why no, no I don't mind!

When exactly is your laundry basket "not in use." Mine stays empty for a maximum of what, 8 hours on laundry day until I change for bed?

Mine goes in my bedroom closet, and another in the bathroom to catch it all.

I have the power combination of a cleaning lady and Roomba for daily cleaning. I won't go back, you can't make me!

When I was a student in Montreal there was a start-up that did students laundry for $10 and it was glorious.

Now if only I had a dishwasher, sigh.

I thought I'd seen space I'd liked before, but I was wrong. This is what I like. I am rethinking good chunks of my own plans at my apartment. Brava!

Very nice. Those rattan chairs made me chuckle, my mother had a pair of them in light blue in our den for years. They're in a rental apartment now, 20 years later these K-Mart chairs are going strong!

I've had two really small apartments: a 297 square foot studio in Montreal in my third year of university 2006-2007 (for $440, utilities included!) and my first 'grown-up' apartment after grad school, a 450 square foot one-bedroom (for a less stunning $835). I loved both, but the studio was just too small, realistically, because it wasn't laid out well (wasn't room for any kind of couch, which for me is a deal breaker). I would have stayed in the one bedroom longer, but instead got to house sit for my folks for a year in a convenient downtown neighbourhood in a MUCH bigger place...who could pass that up?

Hi Eleanor, yes that makes more sense now, McKellar Park is a different kettle of fish. Average sale prices there are $1M+ for a single family home now, and the zoning is very prohibitive of multifamily/semis etc, unlike "Westboro proper"
