We also just purchased a house that had a layout we loved however both the walls and ceilings were painted a similar browinish-yellow/tan color. Brown walls, Brown Ceiling, Brown carpets, Brown kitchen cabinets... 2 months later we have painted the ceilings white, the walls a neutral grey, all the kitchen cabinets are now white, installed wood floors and updated the fixtures from wrought iron and gold to slightly more modern silver/steel options. We are exhausted but the results were amazing and we are very happy with our choices.

I have a powerstrip tucked nicely under my bed. The wire for my phone (with a usb extension) runs up from under the bed, through the slots on the frame (under the mattress) and runs along side the bedframe where the mattress sits.

When not in use, it tucks between the mattress and bed frame out of sight. -- Also, because of the usb extension I can easily unplug my lightning cable, take it to another room and re-attach it without ever having to climb under the bed again.

Mine worked great for about 6 months and then the adhesive began to fail. I tried to contact workerman via their website about recommended fixes/adhesives but never heard back from them. It's such a shame because I thought the Machook was a really simple and beautiful edition to my workspace.

I guess I am in the minority here as I've had every generation of iPhone and have never shattered it despite the fact that I refuse to use a case. Sure, I have probably dropped each model at least once or twice but never more than a small scuff or scratch to the housing.

I love the beautiful glass look of the iPhone and feel like I would rather walk around with something beautiful, crack it and THEN cover it with a bulky case afterward than the other way around. I mean, what's the point of protecting something beautiful if you can never look at it?

Glass may not be able to handle the rare fall unto a hard surface however from my experience it's been much more durable than plastic against the everyday scrapes and scratches from being placed against keys or hard surfaces.

at the end of the day, some people will always want a truck and some people will always want a sports car. But you can't complain that your ferrari doesn't handle the occasional pot hole as well as a ford focus. If you are going to buy something luxurious you need to expect to be more mindful of it. Let's be honest, there are lots of plastic phones out there that don't shatter when dropped but then again, not many are as sought after as the more fragile iPhone.

I bought six old card catalogs (original cards included) from a nearby library and had a local woodworker create a base and top for me.

Now we have this huge 100 inch wide beast sitting in our living room and we LOVE it.

I purchased a cheap wire organizer from Ikea that hold's my power strip and all my wires perfectly... It's not quite as custom but I am pretty happy with it.

I purchased a Jawbone Jambox for my bathroom actually. I liked that once charged I didn't have to mess with wires, the fact that it was bluetooth means that it could work with pretty much any modern device (if I were to take it to the public pool), it looks great and best of all it sounds amazing. Added benefit for having it in the bathroom to play music while I shower and get ready in the morning: it's water resistant so I don't feel as bad if the room gets steamed up a little.

Also, on a related note... I'm not sure how true this is but I read somewhere that FoxLV2 is actually what the jambox is based on. Jawbone went to the Soundmatter guys and bought the guts to the FoxLV2's, put it in a more stylish package. If you don't really care about the looks the LV2 is supposed to sound just a little bit better
