I had a changing table with my first child and I liked it - it had built-in storage that was handy - but I got rid of it when I had to fit in a second crib for my second child and I haven't really missed it.

The key might be "twenty-something." Just guessing but I live in L.A. and I'm in my 30s and we just bought a small house with room for a nice vegetable garden (and chickens except my dogs would eat them) but that would definitely not have been financially possible in my 20s. (I'm married and we make more than 50k a year together, but again - that was NOT true in my twenties.) Maybe these are just older farmers? :)

I really love the color scheme and the armchairs in the living room.

Great space! I love the two pale green chairs in the first picture. I'm also really inspired by the grouping of the three paintings in the third picture - I never have the guts to buy/display original art because it's so hard for me to picture how it's going to look in a space, but this has inspired me to start keeping an eye open for some paintings to hang on my (still empty) walls.

I LOVE decorating for Halloween. I had fake tombstones and a fog machine long before I had kids, but now I can use them as an excuse. :) Usually I do some "scary" decor and some fall/autumnal, then take down the scary stuff November 1 and leave the rest up for Thanksgiving. And then Christmas stuff for December.

Our nursery doesn't have any windows so we went with all bright white walls to reflect lots of light. We even painted existing wood built-ins white and I love it - it's bright and airy and cheerful, not too neutral or boring.

I love the look of bathtubs, particularly free-standing ones, but the truth is, I never, ever use them. My husband and I are strictly shower people - even my toddler showers now. We are renovating our bathroom now and we've decided to remove the tub and replace it with a really nice, big stall shower instead.

I have duvet #9 (the orange and white one) and I love it. There are a lot of reds and oranges in our bedroom - it's true they aren't as calming as cooler colors, but I think they're sexier and more passionate. :)

We are in the process of looking for a new home right now and our dream luxury is a guest room (or even a nook or alcove or some separate space). It's not possible for everyone, of course, but I would love that! We have lots and lots of overnight guests, at least 1-2 every month and sometimes more like 5-6, and it would be so nice for them and for us to not have to have them sleep on our living room sofa and to have a place for them to store their bags, etc.

I am making my own version of #5 (the little pouches) and I love them, but wondering, does anyone have a cute idea for how to hang/display them? I was planning on using mini clothespins and baker's twine, but I'm open to other ideas - maybe on a table-top tree?

My baby is so tiny that she was still in her infant car seat until well over one year old, so all I needed was the Snap n' Go, which I loved for the city - small enough for doorways, restaurant aisles, and narrow sidewalks, not to mention for my small sedan trunk.

At fifteen months she was getting a little tall for the infant seat, so I went to a convertible car seat and a Volo - so far, it's working great. But we're planning on a number two soon, so I'm doing double stroller shopping now.

So far, almost 16 months old and only 2 strollers! We did get a jogging stroller as a hand-me-down, but I passed it on - I love to run, but I just couldn't get used to running with a stroller.

I love the secretary desk. In fact, I've been looking for one - if anyone has any leads, I'd love to hear them.

To me, keeping a lot of books around isn't just a wonderful comfort (which it is!) but a great resource. As a writer, I'm always pulling down books from the shelf to re-read or quote passages, fact-check, etc. Definitely useful, and most of what I have isn't digital, at least not yet. (Count me as 700 books and counting...)
