Building on CJ118's idea, bourbon Arnold Palmers would also work well. These were a hit at my last party - just offer the Arnold Palmer mixture and the bourbon separately.

This is great! Very ingenious. This might be odd to say since it's a bathroom, but the aesthetics of the powder room are especially appealing to me.

Agree with @AKAY - certain specific photos might be awkward, but there's nothing awkward about having personal photos generally. A home should be decorated with things that make you happy when you look at them, and if photos of family and friends achieve that effect, what's the big deal?

Lovely kitchen, and the owners sound like people I'd love to get to know!

FYI, Rajasthan is in northwest India, so the sentence "Rajasthan and other parts of Southern India" is making me squirm a little...

Another vote for leather. I have a very sedate cat who didn't scratch even the nubby fabric couch I used to have, but leather has been a godsend in terms of shedding issues. No more need to lint-brush the sofa every single time I want to sit down in dark clothing! The leather does get little scratches on the seat from when she slips and puts her claws out for grip, but these don't bother me and are easy to smooth over with leather conditioner.

I love suggestion #2! If I didn't revisit my supposed dislikes every so often, I would never have found out that I actually love avocados, pickles, and beets. Childhood prejudices were holding me back.
