We also compromised on not having a second bathroom (we really wanted a master with an en suite). The master bedroom has two closets, one is large enough to install a bathroom, but at the end of the day, I can't sacrifice the storage!

We also do the King-size blanket on a queen sized bed. We also accept the fact that we are very American in our insistence on a tightly tucked in top sheet.

I've also been reading Lucy Worsley's If these Walls Could Talk: An Intimate History of the Home which has many amazing facts about different sleeping arrangements since the Middle Ages (including the advent of the sheetless European duvet in the 1960s)!

I always think that the "lighter the better" when it comes to showing a house. Try to feature as much sunny brightness. I echo the comments above that it might be trimming the tree or taking a photo on a sunnier day (since so much home browsing happens online, make it sunny!).

My parents yanked off a front awning when renovating a 1960s ranch. It was really a game changing move and brightened up the front living room tremendously. I'm not sure that this will change the exterior much, but it's likely to really change the look of the interior. You might then add shutters to play off an accent door.

There was an article in the New York Times this month about a service called Task Rabbit -- where you list a job or home chore you want done and "rabbits" bid to do the work. Rabbits will do things like set-up your printer, refinish vintage furniture, or organize an ignored closet -- any chore you want done. I am sure that you could describe the tasks you want done and see if you get any takers!
