@IBarbara! The desk chair is one of the biggest splurges in the apartment. It's the Herman Miller Embody chair. It was really hard to pull the trigger on the purchase, but now I LOVE IT. As for the curtains, there are two hooks drilled into the frame. @Zeevan The whole bed nook area was built by the previous tenant, who happened to be an architect. He thought of everything. I got lucky!

HI Ana Elena! Thank you so much! The two pieces near the couch are a Paul Klee print I bought at the Tate Modern in London years ago, and a drawing from a local artist here in San Francisco. The hand on the table I found on Gilt Groupe, a daily deals website. The painting above my bed is from a vintage resale shop here in San Francisco called The Apartment. I doubt they have a website, unfortunately!

@H144 Thank you, Color Sister! (Any idea what I'm doing wrong with my Dracina?)

@SuttonParks The horizontal bookshelf is from West Elm, the standard white one is the trusty old Billy from Ikea.

@LittleMissSunshine thanks for the plant love. He is persnickety (and I'm terrible with plants) but I think he's very Dr. Seuss and thus I love him.

@BetterOffNow I am OBSESSED w Dru Holland. Nothing gives me a bigger thrifting thrill! Have you seen the cast iron? TO DIE.

@CreativeLicense I say we change the tense on that. WE ARE TOTALLY FRIENDS. At least in spirit. : )

Thanks for all the love, you guys! I wish I could fix us a big batch of French 75s. To answer questions: litter box indeed in the bathroom - a tiny one, but she's a tiny cat so it works. The tree is a Dracina, but a friend who saw the post today says it needs some TLC! I've tried the desk-to-dr-table thing, and I found it was just...unrealistic in real life. And I totally do keep my books in color order! I let go of 75% of them a few years ago (part of living lighter), so I don't really need my faves to be in substantive order. Plus I love the whimsy it adds - I'm much more likely to rediscover a beloved title this way.
