wow this house had so many similarities to my own home: built by a brick mason, two distinct fireplaces [one stone, one brick which was never used], lots of exposed brick but 900 miles apart. amazing!

go to a paint store that deals with automotive shops and ask for 'Aircraft' stripper to remove the paint. you'll be left with bare metal. if you don't like the look of that, i'd recommend taking them to a auto body shop to have them repainted to get top quality.

i pulled up the carpet in my home, which has a sort of industrial vibe and stained the floors white. i used an opaque driveway/ garage stain from home depot since it was a little cheaper than say a true concrete paint. then i sealed it with 4 coats of low-lustre polyurethane. and if i may offer some advice, do not use a paint roller. use a "lambswool applicator" for both the stain and the sealant, and you will get a smooth, seamless, professional look. i think my floors look amazing. now if only my dog would learn to not run on the floors...

too bad the interiors are all wood and ugly!
they completely missed the opportunity to have a cool, minimalist interior paying homage to it's previous airline life. perhaps serving carts as nightstands and bertoia bird chairs...

is the table in that first pic actualy attached to the back of the chair/ sofa. how about the scoop on that?!

i'm a native kansan and i miss driving through the flint hills. my favourite times are the spring after the rains when it's a vibrant green and in then when they burn the range at the end of year and you cna see fire after fire off into the horizon. you can see forever out there. thanks for sharing the post!
