I agree with previous commenters. This is a great store with a really friendly, down-to-earth staff. Readers, take note: they do wedding registries here! Wanting to support a local store, my husband and I registered for some really beautiful, harder-to-find, pieces. It is not as convenient as some of the bigger chain stores, but the staff did their best to provide really great personal service.

I have a giant 1919 map of National Mall area of DC chopped up and framed in my living room...and I live in DC. I like it, and my friends/neighbors love to look at it and see how that area has changed since then.

No kidding, superflyguy. Yes, to me, this solution would just brings the eye upward, drawing more attention to how ugly the ceiling/lights are. Just leave bad enough alone--I never would have noticed a celing like that before the moldy paper got hung up there.

I got a desk chair at the Park Hyatt DC sale a couple of years ago. I paid $40. It's not a particularly special style, but it's pretty high quality and it's very comfortable. I'll do something interesting with it one of these days. On another note, if you ever get a chance to go to a hotel sale, do it, even if just for the experience. It's wild seeing people running around raiding the rooms and looking like they're on some kind of looting spree.

If you can wait til the end of the season and are near a C&B outlet, these usually appear. I'm going to buy one next time I see it at the outlet (yes, I'm cheap)!
