@HCI, thanks! I had no idea. I'm shocked as in the past, I have donated to Planet Aid. :-/

Natural Soaps, like Dr. Bronner (which is what I use) lasts longer than those commercial perfumey bar soaps and has less of an impact on the environment. Liquid soaps? Not so much as @CHRISTAB mentioned above.

I have been contemplating painting the paneling in my kitchen. I recently purchased an old outdated 1915 home and the kitchen is covered in paneling. At this time, I cannot afford to remodel the kitchen. I'm broke from replacing the roof, windows, updating the wiring, stripping wallpaper off horsehair plaster, taking down/replacing ceilings and so on... Would someone have the time to tell me how I would go about painting paneling? I should also mention that the paneling seems to have a sheen on it and quite honestly, I don't see how even primer would stick to it but what do I know?... HELP.

My biggest Pet Peeve:
A Flatscreen TV in very room of the house.
(A friend of mine has a flat screen TV in every room of her house, except the bathroom and I just don't get why. I mean, who watches that much TV?)

I'm in agreement with TellaGraham:

Growing up in an 1st Generation Italian home, my parents and Nonni drank wine out of small juice glasses (say it isn't so). They didn't own any fancy wine glasses. Far as I can tell, the wine tasted fine, irrespective of the vessel they drank it from. :-/

Last weekend my upper back/back of neck and arms got sunburned while working out in my garden. That evening, I soaked in the tub with 2 cups of baking soda. I did this for 2 consecutive days and my sunburn felt so much better. Call me crazy but I swear it helped. :)

Love your space and your kitty.

I agree with another poster, good luck keeping a cat off any surface. I have 5 cats and they rule the house, especially the tops of my kitchen cabinets.

As for the poster or threatened death to a cat on his/her counter -- people like you are the reason I am an animal activist!

There is a church in my former neighborhood that was converted into condos back in 2007 or 2008. The address is: 27 St. James Avenue, Norwood, MA.

Dear @INDY JEFFREY, why does 2 sticks of butter make you wince? It's dessert, to be eaten in moderation, not a meal to be eaten in one sitting. I'm a former pastry cook. If 2 sticks of butter make you wince then the behind the scenes at a bakery will send you over the edge. Picture an extremely hairy Italian-American man, wearing a 'wife beater' mixing cake batter with entire arm emersed in said batter up to hairy armpit.

Two things I am sick-to-death of: Granite, Stainless & Fondant (I realize this is completely unrelated to the topic but I'm a former pastry cook). :-/

I love my 1915 house with the old outdated kitchen.

Great job! The house looks beautiful. Although, call me crazy, but I would have kept the original kitchen sink/stove and incorporated them into the remodel. Call me crazy, but I love vintage. I am currently in the process of remodeling an old 1915 home that looked a lot like your BEFORE photos. Only the prior owners ruined the kitchen and threw out the original sink and stove. :( Oh well.
