This looks like either East Campus or Random Hall. Yes, they do have the time because they don't actually sleep. Those two dorms have more laxed rules on what you can do to your room, including building any structural changes. They also live in the same room for 2-3 years. This could also be in a frat, where they can build whatever they want too. This won't be permitted in regular west campus dorms even at MIT. A High-Tech Dorm Room Hack at MIT |

I'd get decorative paper you can get affordably from a crafts store or a sheet of premium gift wrapping paper or even a single sheet of your favorite wall paper. Then frame it with an IKEA frame. The largest size I found is 28"x40". http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30132527 How To Decorate Bare Bedroom Walls? Good Questions |

If you ever decide to tackle Inbox Zero, you can try The Email Game (http://emailga.me). It makes getting to inbox zero fun and efficient. But of course, any digital tools can only help you so far if you don't intend to actually maintain it. I know I've kept to almost inbox zero since I started using it myself. My rule is to never let my Gmail go over one page. Five Things More Satisfying Than Inbox Zero |

I think for people who are trying to give hints to new guests who've never been to your house before, my suggestion is open the door barefoot if they are the first people to arrive for the party. Otherwise, old friends know to take off the shoes and let them take shoes off at the landing. it's quite obvious that everyone is taking shoes off when there is a pile of shoes at the entrance. It'd help if you put a little stool to let them sit down while taking off shoes. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Reader Poll: Shoes on or off in your house? |
