It's also good with vanilla ice cream:) But then vanilla ice cream is wonderful with just about anything, e.g. Baileys or thekitchn's sweet milk liqueur (http://www.thekitchn.com/a-sweet-treat-homemade-milk-li-138124) and you don't have to prepare it beforehand and freeze it.

For summery nights I also love pouring some vodka or prosecco over sorbet/crushed water ice. Sweet and light!

Just made this - and it was really yummy! Used fresh chili though... And think I will drizzle with olive oil instead of butter next time (we had some olive oil for dipping the crust, which gave me the idea). And let me tell you: you can't ever stuff enough cheese in there!
No dinner for me tonight, we ate the whole thing;)

Hm, the guy in the video puts his index fingers way too far onto the fork and (blade of) the knife - big no-no!
I grew up in Europe and hence was taught the 'European method', but when having a dinner that only requires a fork I use the 'American method'.
As long as people around me don't talk with food in their mouth/have their mouth open when chewing/move face to plate instead of fork to face I don't care much about the method they use;)

Notes. Written some nasty ones, but also received some that really ticked me off...

I hated nothing more than planning out my meals for a whole week and then coming home to an empty box of (let's say) rice with a little note from my roomie attached saying 'oops, went on a binge and couldn't stop here - thank god you always have just wat I crave in your cupboard' and then singned with a darn SMILEY!!! And then I had to actually ask her to replace whatever she took...pfffffffff!

The liquor in the picture looks suspiciously like it, but this is really good with The Kitchn's very own 'Milk and Booze' liquor (http://www.thekitchn.com/a-sweet-treat-homemade-milk-li-138124). It's actually one of my favorite desserts these days!

Pie filling (cherry is my favorite) and/or chocolate. Or even a marshmallow. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Ha, great article, I'll have to show my bf!
I like to whip up a quick omelet and stuff it with veggies when he's not around for dinner and he thinks it's the weirdest thing - in his mind, eggs are a breakfast dish. Period. A poached egg on salad for lunch is pushing it, but eggs for dinner... not in his world;)
Little does he know what he's missing!

Soooo... Last thursday it was finally time to strain the liquor. Took quite some time due to the milk solids, but the result is beautifully clear and yellow (strained it 3 times, only the first time takes forever). Liquor smells fantastic and tastes wonderful, especially when very cold. Also very nice with vanilla ice cream and/or apple crumble and/or fruit cobbler.
(Obviously, we've already used half of the liquor and I better start a new batch if we keep up this speed. I'm thinking oranges and brown sugar...;)

Love it! Easy to make, tasty and great gift:) I like to leave out the sugar, add some vanilla extract, double the amount of spices for som extra 'oomph' and then add a bit of 5 spice powder (wanted to add anise and ginger, but was fresh out of both... So decided to experiment and in went the 5 spice. Turned out to be really yummy!). Delicious!

I started a batch last night (with a lemon, an orange and a vanilla pod) and already saw some coagulation this morning! And yes, it looks utterly disgusting:) Used whole milk and keep it in my unheated kitchen, wrapped in a towel by the window (cold and dark enough I figured). Can't wait to sample it by next friday! Hope that the filtering process will indeed leave it this beautiful sunny yellow hue...
