I had that same issue - I liked the Sandra Boynton calendar for its functionality, but wanted something a bit more grown-up. So I made my own - with 4 columns for family members or different categories of appointments. Check it out on Etsy - just search for "mom calendar" - its the "2012 Naturals Planning Calendar."
