So comforting. Wish I were there. Takes me back to my childhood when the porch was an oasis on a nice day. Linda's Screened Porch in ChicagoMy Great Outdoors |

I come from a long line of nappers, especially on Sundays. The whole house was asleep. Being in food service I work most Sundays now and those naps are history. I look forward to the weekdays off and having a quiet nap while everyone else is at work. I am an owl. I usually go to bed at 4am so my naps are probably later than most. I sleep almost exactly to the minute for 2 hours. How to Nap (No, Really!) |

First cookbook was "I hate to cook" by Peg Bracken. Actually it really wasn't that I hated to cook, but that I didn't know how to. The little paperback was full of simple and quick recipes. And she showed you how to graduate from using pantry items to making things like sauces yourself. Sorry that I gave it away. Lots of memories with that little book learning to feed my new husband and away from all family and friends. What Was Your First Cookbook? |
