I HAVE TO have a sense of rightness and order to be able to sit back and relax in my space. I'm one of those people that can't prop their feet up and enjoy a good book if there's laundry in the hamper, dishes in the sink, pictures crooked on the wall, etc. etc. Since moving into my first house last year I've been a decorating whirlwind! I have used coupons to buy paint, found bargains on Craigslist, and shopped my parents' basement to get things to where they are today. I would never live with orange walls for years just because I couldn't pick a new color! Pick anything, DO IT, and if you end up changing your mind a few years, whatever. It's all a process, and a fun one, too! An Argument for Slow Decorating |

I absolutely adore the new color scheme but hate that they made their daughter's name so prominent. Parents, PLEASE do not ever put your child's name on their toys/clothing! Even the most vigilant parent can accidentally lose attention while their child is playing outside and having toys/clothing with the child's name visible makes them even more vulnerable to predators. It's a super cute bike but please save the personalization for things you keep inside your home! Before & After: From Worn-Out To Wonderful Tricycle Makeover |

This is my favorite!! I'm not lying, I've pored over entry so far, and this is just fabulous. I actually was inspired to buy faux coral for my own home (you can see two pieces of coral used as decor in her first pic) just by this post! And I love it! You've surrounded yourself by beautiful things, every day must be a treat:) Charlotte's Decorative Arrangement Small Cool Contest |

I LOVE all those adorable kitschy objects- especially against the bright peacock blue background in the first pictures- but my brain revolts against anything resembling clutter. How do you arrange lovely little things in tableaus without creating clutter?? I am at a loss. Professional Inspiration for Real World Living: Marcus Hay |

OHHHH the "distant buyer" scam....I sell loads of things on Craigslist (and buy quite a few as well) so I am well-versed in the nuances of the distant buyer scam. It's gotten to the point where I will deliberately mess with them, just to see what happens. I once made up a story about a family of elves that lived in a dollhouse I was selling, and did they mind terribly if they were shipped as well? My cozy, cottage-y self is constantly at war with my OCD self that must. clear. off. everything. I drool over pictures of inexpertly arranged bird nests, needlepoints and fluffy blankets, and then turn around and purge like it's my religion. There's a fine line between cozy and cluttered, and my brain can't handle it. Throw pillows are my only vice! Cozification: 7 Steps to Your Coziest Home Yet |

Famous Amos- It is exactly the same for us! I do the lion's share of the "woman's work" not because I'm a woman- but because it BOTHERS me, and it doesn't bother my husband. He is perfectly content to sit with his remote after a workday (we both work full-time outside of home), but I get the jitters and can't sit still until I've wiped up dirty footprints, scrubbed the stove, and put away laundry.
