Weird. I just saw Dick and Jane book pages in an Antique Mall yesterday. Big ones. Never saw them before sold as art...just the books. Now here they are today! Unframed they were $3 a piece. I guess framing costs a lot in CA!

I think they look like Tey Pottery. British. I've purchased some online over the years as my mother collects small cottages. If you Google and check images you might be able to pair some up. They are sweet things. Nice collection! And even better they came from your grandmother! :)

1. Carpet. Lived two places with it as an adult and hated it both times. Too high maintenance.

2. Cowhide. Never. Not even a bag that I like on Etsy. I couldn't stand looking at /walking on a dead animal skin everyday.

3. Fake Plants. Really?

4. Painted Wood. No problem! Unless it's pretty. Most wood I've come across is not.

5. Reproduction Art. Meh. Maybe on a good printed wrapped canvas. Or a high end framing job. Still. Not for me.

We had a storage unit when we lived in a one bedroom in a city. Being collectors it was a must! But we kept the best stuff with us in the apartment. After moving to another state and gaining an attic and basement we emptied the storage space...it was obscene all the stuff that was worthless and that we really didn't want anymore. All the money spent on storing crap. Lesson learned. I wouldn't do it again.

I'm in love! The squatty radiators. The windows with the bare wood. Minimalist white kitchen. Storage bed. Most of all the bathroom with all that shelving along the wall and the sweet square toilet!!

And Flickr looks like crap! I just got my contacts email and it's like looking into a black hole! I guess the trade off for the bad design is now you don't have to PAY to post photos. Way to ruin a site that was already fading!!

Yes, I guess that would be true. Bad feelings for the ex as opposed to the good feelings towards someone who has passed. Sorry for you loss.

My husband and I have been doing this for years! We rented a two story cottage in the woods for three years in a row for our anniversary in November. It was nestled in next to a creek with no neighbors in sight. It was perfectly outfitted in vintage throughout. Red kitchen and all! It went up for sale and now is not up for rent anymore but the site where we found it has plenty of others available with any amenity you want or don't want. Run by a management company so you're not dealing with individual homeowners.

I would take seclusion over someone doing my laundry any day of the week!

Major was Deacon and Kelly's baby's name on the sitcom King of Queens years ago. I guess they were ahead of their time!
