I'm in love! The squatty radiators. The windows with the bare wood. Minimalist white kitchen. Storage bed. Most of all the bathroom with all that shelving along the wall and the sweet square toilet!!

My husband and I have been doing this for years! We rented a two story cottage in the woods for three years in a row for our anniversary in November. It was nestled in next to a creek with no neighbors in sight. It was perfectly outfitted in vintage throughout. Red kitchen and all! It went up for sale and now is not up for rent anymore but the site where we found it has plenty of others available with any amenity you want or don't want. Run by a management company so you're not dealing with individual homeowners.

I would take seclusion over someone doing my laundry any day of the week!

Thank you for the suggestions! I decided on Rustoleum Ultra Cover Matte Clear. It says "non-yellowing" and "UV Resistant", so that's good. Thankfully we are in the shade so sun fade shouldn't be to much of a problem. I've got a bucket of hens and chicks at the ready!
