The flocked velvet hanger divide is an interesting one. In my home it falls along gender lines. They are great for my (women's) clothes that tend to slide off anything else. But they suck for men's dress shirts--too much friction. So my man prefers very narrow steel hangers. In both cases, you get to pack a lot more stuff in your closet than you ever thought you could. My one disappointment with the Kindle (or probably any e-reader for that matter) is that it's just not a good platform for travel guides. There's a reason all my (heavy) DK guides have tabs, notes, and bookmarks sticking out at every angle. Try thumbing through an e-book to find a nearby restaurant... I'm so happy you mentioned the AS4 system from Atlas Industries. It's the best home-furnishing investment I ever made--beautiful, sturdy, and modular as hell.
