I first had coffee from an Eva Solo at our local cafe and I loved it so much I got one for home. It makes lovely coffee.

I can walk to the local farmer's market, and there's also a punjab market in walking distance (the BEST for spices, tea, rice etc...). Other than that it's a 10 minute drive to a big box grocery and a 15 minute drive to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.

Our farmer's market is on Saturday mornings, so I take a few minutes Friday night to plan meals for the week using my Pinterest board as well as an email address that I have specifically for recipes that I have sent to myself. After the farmer's market, I go to a grocery store for the rest.

It's just my husband and me so we typically make three meals per week, which last two days each (unless it's something big like lasagna that lasts 4 meals!), and then we have the 7th day to eat out.

My husband lived in a roach infested apartment, and after trying everything from exterminators to roach motels to cleaning obsessively, he ended up buying a tokay gecko. They're known as the "pit bull" of geckos, and after he got her he never saw another roach.

1. Eat breakfast every day - and not a sugary carb-laden breakfast...something with protein like an omelet with veggies or a protein shake
2. Portion control processed food, refined, food, meat, and dairy, but eat leafy green veggies until you can't eat any more. Serve the dishes you make now on a bed of greens, add spinach to your smoothie, put kale in your soup, just do whatever it takes to eat a significant amount of green leafy veggies.

These two things really work!! I've lost 30 pounds

I have been so lucky with roommates - before I got married I had 7 different roommates in 6 years. They truly were all wonderful, but I'd have to say my favourite was a girl I didn't know well when she moved in, but we were a similar clothes size and we were soon trying on each other's clothes in the middle of the night and staying up drinking tea and talking until 2am.

Tuna noodle casserole. Slimy noodles, chewy chunks of tuna, and crunchy little bits of celery and onion. I HATE it - always have...always will.

Gorgeous house! Y'all have done a great job with it and it is adorable. I personally would want to have about 80% fewer nicknacks, but each to their own! Congrats on a lovely home.

I'm 29, I cook a ton, and I don't have one recipe card in my kitchen. I think the digital revolution will permanently doom the recipe card to extinction.

I have my Great Grandmother's china, and I love to use it for hosting events like baby showers because it's very feminine and there are 12 place settings!

I've lived in Bmore for 8 years, and this is an excellent guide to the city! I just have to add The Wine Market (www.the-wine-market.com) and Baba's Kitchen (www.babaskitchen.net) to the list of restaurants. The Wine Market has consistently delicious food and a lovely patio on which to languish during warm evenings. Baba's is a cute little restaurant with fresh and tasty mediterranean meals dished up by Fareed, the owner, who will greet you like you're family when you walk in the door.

I get most of my spices from an Indian grocery near my house - it has turned out to be a really nice and cheap source for spices.

I have always kept a large assortment of teas on hand, but recently I've realised that having 30 boxes of tea is a bit much so I am currently in the process of drinking all my tea before I buy any more. One of my favourites is Tetley from England-it's not the same in the US, even the "British blend." So much blander than it's UK counterpart. I also have some lovely loose-leaf teas from my trip to India and Sri Lanka. When I have totally consumed my stash, I'll probably get some PG Tips until my next trip across the pond.

My husband and I have a rule that whomever is loading the dishwasher gets to load it their way. BUT I often go back and rearrange when he is done because he doesn't put like things together and it wastes a lot of space. My mom is like the ultimate dishwasher loader so I know how annoying it is to be told you're loading the dishwasher wrong, but I just can't help myself when I see things thrown in haphazardly.
