WELL, Thanks to all of you for the advice! Actually we will be needing the tub sooner than expected because we ARE expecting :) I think we will save up for a walk in tub, it just seems like the right idea for me! Paint the walls a lighter color! It doesn't have to be white, it could be light gray, or even lilac. Add some light flooring as well. If you have hard wood, get a light colored area rug, even if it's carpet, area rugs can be placed over it. Put a large-ish mirror on the wall and get some new lamps. But one thing I've really found helpful is making sure there's not a lot of furniture in the room. For instance, having a large couch, loveseat, 2 chairs and a coffee table may make the room seem more dark or cramped. Unless of course they are spread wide apart and have plenty of room around them.
