And my front door is to the left of the white couch in my living room. There's also a back door in the sunroom. Sorry for lack of labeling!

Thank you for your nice comments! 940 sf is the largest apartment I've lived in alone before, but in the area that I live, it's not uncommon to see a 1 BR this size.

You have seen that lemon before! I love using AT as an inspiration for my apartment, so after seeing the lemon in this tour (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/kyle-erins-one-153669), I decided to immortalize my own odd fascination with Meyer lemons.

That mini-door in the bedroom actually just opens up to pipes. I wish it were a more interesting story! But I do love that it looks like the entrance to a hobbit hole.

So beautiful! I feel like I've found a kindred spirit in thrifting.

FYI AT: the link for South Social & Home isn't working :)

I used to live in a four-plex with very similar built-ins. I used mine for what you'd expect -- knick knacks, cute books, boxes, etc -- but my neighbors used theirs as storage for their antique cocktail class collection. Granted, not everyone has one of those (!), but I'm sure you could easily find some champagne saucers (like these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/94204868/vintage-fostoria-melrose-etch-no-268) and tumblers (like these: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-tabletop-glassware/973172.jsp) at a good resale shop.

Love that AT editors seem to have noticed the deluge of recent MCM tours and have really mixed it up in a good (great!) way.

I'm with you @OJK92. No piece of furniture from UO ever really seems like that great of a deal either. Plus, there are likely tons of wooden rocking chairs in thrift stores across the country that just need a little updating.

Another shameless fan of the Ikea sheepskin rug.

I saw this monstrosity last weekend at Z Gallerie: http://www.zgallerie.com/p-10152-cloud-modular-sectional-chocolate.aspx

I'm not sure if it's about to take flight or swallow me whole, but I'm not interested in anything it's bringing to the table.

Completely tangential, but the NYT did this beautiful feature of a really sweet revamped townhome yesterday: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/26/greathomesanddestinations/the-brooklyn-design-firm-nightwood-remakes-a-town-house.html?src=rechp

Definitely doesn't have the grandeur of the velvet curtains(!), but a different way to use a chunk of money.

I have those IKEA baskets in the top photo (bottom row on the right) and hung slate coasters from the handles. Instant mini-chalkboard labels! Granted, it's not the most efficient option if you've got a bunch of different items per basket, but they're easily changed and give a new look to a potentially monotonous storage system.
