I love the mix of cool modern materials with warm woodsy materials. Check out this spice rack that combines reclaimed lumber and test tubes. Good stuff and right at home on this list! https://www.etsy.com/listing/99930581/tigerwood-test-tube-spice-rack-w-cork An Earthy Cook's Kitchen Dream Kitchen |

My husband is a wood worker, and it's not uncommon for his projects to find a place in our house while we wait for them to be sold. So I've had benches in my entry, living room, bedroom, landing, and spare room. They are fantastically versatile. This one was among my favorites - http://www.etsy.com/transaction/63424147 I'd be a bad wife if I didn't tell you to check out his site - www.thedesignpallet.com :) Bedroom Benches: Sit & Store |

There's so much on etsy - which is why the treasuries are so great. I hope you can also check out The Design Pallet, which makes organic furniture with a mid-century vibe, then uses the left over lumber to make beautiful doodads for the home. http://www.etsy.com/shop/thedesignpallet. I've always lived in small spaces, so I've preferred see-through coffee tables. I've had both plexi and glass. I'm thinking about starting a family, and I worry that my glass and steel coffee table (that I got for an amazing bargain on Craigslist... which only makes me love it more) won't be practical, so I'm shifting my attention from glass to lacquer. I love the white lacquer cubes at West Elm, and I also love more organic options like this locally salvaged elm table with hairpin legs, which my husband built - http://www.etsy.com/listing/88453134/locally-salvaged-elm-slab-side-table. I think that glossy white touches will be a solid replacement for glass. Coffee Table Roundup: Round, Square & Beyond |

The Design Pallet (www.thedesignpallet.com) makes beautiful slab top tables, and mixes them with more modern elements to avoid being too rustic or cabiny (that's a word, right?) I think that the key is to mix the slab tables with modern, crisp materials. I'm always a sucker for mixing the wood with white lacquer (but I like anything that is white lacquer). It's beautiful, sustainable, and chunky! Not Just For Apres Ski: Rustic & Natural Wood Tables |

Great post! I'm one of those freaks who loves to organize closets and drawers, so I've actually started doing it for my friends - I call it "Closet Audit" - I just did a post about it on my personal blog at http://buzzdeb.wordpress.com/2012/01/24/closet-audit/. I'm not exactly a pro, but I've cleaned out a lot of closets :) Check it out and let me know what you think! How to Be Your Own Professional Organizer: 10 Top Tips from the Pros |
