I actually added some in-drawer file frames to mine (for like $10 on amazon) and turned it into my file cabinet. It's really, really easy/cheap and can eliminate the need for a desk if you just use your laptop most of the time and have been using a desk almost entirely for storage.

I think you'll find that basically everyone is right there with you on this one. When I move (and I will be again in 9 days), I have the most frustrating combination of being tapped out and also desperately wanting to get my life in order, so I tend to just unpack fiercely with accidental naps in the middle. The last time my sister walked in to the room I was unpacking and found me using books as a pillow, totally zonked out.

For me its more the absence of things, specifically annoying electronic standby lights or bright clocks, etc. The number of electronics that live in my bedroom = zero for exactly this reason.

Oh I hope you're talking about Nicola's on Lavista. That place is like crack to me. My parents order a massive mezze whenever I come home (Yes. I am 29 years old and my parents still order my favorite foods when I visit). I eat their baba ghanoush until my tongue is so burned by the acid that I tear up... Then I eat three more bites. THEN I stop. Warning: garlic will come out of your pores for days.

I know I sound like a walking ad (sorry!), but honestly I just want everyone to experience this magical joy.

I think I have a new hero. I've been (not so secretly) loathing the carpet in my apartment for months.
