Murphy's Oil Soap isn't good for wood? What?? I beg to differ. My mother bought a solid wood dining room table that she always cleaned with Murphy's.. fast forward 10 years, now the leaf of the dining table (which was stored in the china-cabinet) looked dull and not as smooth or shiny as the rest of the table. Why? The rest of the table was always cleaned and conditioned with Murphy's Oil Soap. I seen it with my two eyes. Use it.

My dad's a locksmith & i just asked him about this the other day. He seems to think there will be a monthly fee for the lock. I don't understand why. Does anyone know if there will be a fee? Seems kind of silly, he is an old man lol maybe he confused it with something else like the cost for the app.

I am sure the cost of a locksmith will be a little more to get your locks changed to this, or even if you lock yourself out somehow.

Usually when I sort through my closet to get rid of clothes I have a trash pile & a donate pile. The clothes that are really worn or have unfixable holes and damage go into the trash pile. The items that are in good condition go into another.

I typically take my bag of good clothes to Salvation Army, but as of lately I'll bring my bag to work and let the girls pick out anything they want first. Now other people have started doing the same.

For furniture, I haven't had to get rid of too much, but Craigslist is what I've used in the past. Price it right & it sells quickly. Garage sales are a lot of work, but are better for those smaller items you want to get rid of like old dishes and decor. If I don't have enough for a garage sale, those smaller items usually get donated to the Salvation Army as well.

Ecuadoriana1, you win. I thought I had it bad! My current roommate I met on CL, and she wanted to move in the next day. It was now or never, so I took a risk and said okay. She was awesome for the first four months, then did something really low and disgusting & I called her out on it. I did so much for this girl & thought she was my friend, meanwhile the whole time she's scrutinizing me and my ways in her mind. Insane. Since then she has been trying to justify her wrong doing by literally bullying me. Right now i'm being threatened to court because I wont return her security deposit because she wants to leave early. During an argument I told her I'd give it back if she just got the hell out of my house. Now she is holding me to what I said... Oour lease states that no verbal agreements are valid unless they're in writing and entered into our lease. So, I hope she takes me to court. She truly believes because a verbal statement stands in court, she will win.
So, thanks to this crazy mofo I wont have any more roommates. I want my home to myself! Unless, of course, a friend needs a place to stay for some time. A friend, a good old friend. No more strangers.

I did this when I bought my house. I have a step in shower that had the sliding doors on it, and the doors rested on a marble slab (like the ones on the bottom of windows here in FL). So, it required a little bit of sanding and buffing the marble because it had pitted. But, it was really easy and I sold the doors on craigslist for $40!

I agree with painting, but if you're not up for painting the whole room, I think just painting the top third of the walls white or a lighter color tan would work. Add a second layer of white or off white sheers behind your curtains that you have now and add some more yellow accents. I like the bench idea, or a blanket at the end of your bed.
