I was SO excited to read this article... As well as the comments. I'm a Midwesterner (Milwaukee) who lived in HI for several years after college and met an amazing group of friends immediately. I made a hard decision to leave for a job opportunity in Dallas which was a learning experience for sure! I always considered myself fairly outgoing and found myself in a situation (for the past 5 years) where I had a very hard time finding "like minded" friends. Knowing I didn't want to plant my roots there I made the decision to put my stuff in storage and either move back to HI to be with family/friends or move to Seattle. At 33, the thought of starting over is exhausting, but I love everything that Seattle has to offer. I know a few people there, but will definitely be checking for AT meetups in the area. I'm just starting to apply to different jobs, so hopefully I'll make a decision within the next month and be out there!
