Thanks to everyone for the leads!
Zu, that chair does look very similar. I'm excited to delve deeper into her work and inspiration (when it's not Thanksgiving).
GIT, the chairs are serving as our dining room table seating currently. They're surrounding an old drop-leaf table, but its not particularly exciting as a combination. Eventually they will be replaced with ghost chairs and an extremely rustic farm house table, and will become accent seating for parties.
Further ideas and information is always appreciated. This has been a mystery to me for several years now. I'll update if I find their origin. Thanks again!
