I know Layla and Kevin have just put their cottage on the market, so I had to come and visit their home tour to see it one last time...

@greenwoodgal - I'm not in my 60's yet, but I remember sharing a room with 2 sisters and a brother when I was younger, and a two bedroom apartment was the only option.

Later, my brother had his bed in the family room adjacent to the kitchen.

It's so hard to pick a winner - all the homes are so cute, especially in this size category!

Very cool! I don't know if I could live with all that wood - I would be tempted to take a white paintbrush to it!

I'm with one of the other commenters - I would love a Katrina cottage size home, but it's difficult to get permission from the city to build such a small home. I'm thinking of retiring to Florida, where I can buy a cheap trailer park, and replace the ugly trailers with Katrina cottages - live in one, and rent the others out. I can dream, right?

I love that you have room for a crafting area - definite a vote from me on that point alone.

I keep mine on my key ring with my car keys. Not impossible to lose, but I can't remember the last time I lost my car keys :)

Having said that, I think the safety pin one is cute.

Very nice use of space! I have lots of art and craft supplies, and that's always been my biggest storage problem, too.

Cute space.

I agree with the poster above that there's great stuff at every price point - All my furniture is budget, but that doesn't have to mean "tacky".

For a budget screen, my husband and I built our own 110" screen for our projector for under $75.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the sofa. At least you will know next time not to say "I'll think about it" when something like that becomes available.

I'm sorry the comments turned into a mud slinging match at SA.

Love the use of the space - the kitchen feels much larger than what one would expect in a house of this size.

I understand the photos were taken for a photo shoot, but I would have at least liked to have seen an "after" of the exterior of the house.

Reading the other comments about the slim line hangers - I tried using them, and I hate them - a tug on a pair of jeans to get them off the hanging breaks the bottom of the hanger.

I use *gasp* white plastic ones that have the rubberized inset on all sides - stops pants from slipping off, and holds the shoulders of tops in place - they're not as "pretty" as the slim line velvety ones, but much more practical, IMO

These are designers, who charged scores of thousands of dollars to decorate million dollar homes - they have no understanding on what goes on in the average American home.

I'd rather DIY than buy a cheap self-assemble piece of furniture. I'm sorry, but shopping in high end furniture stores, or hiring an interior decorator is not in my budget.
