Ok... I really thought I was the only one but looks like I AM NOT. Mr Cig up top needs to grow up a little (a lot).
Here is my story. I was a smoker years ago and we all know reformed smokers are the worst! We know the addiction and now we know the freedom and that small little bonus that we can actually breath now. And now that we're not hacking up flem balls and a lung each morning, we realize it is actually a really nice way to live.
I just moved into my apartment in the summer and since then I have acquired smoke related asthma due to the second hand smoke that drifts up into my apartment. It's so bad some days that my cat smells like he's been out frequenting the bars.( I know this is not so because I took the car keys from him just last week.)
Anyhoooo.... Here's the thing. We all know the health threats of smoking and second hand smoke and I just spent $400 on my meds this month for 2 puffers and singulair. I have to keep my windows open in sub-freezing temperatures and my gas bill is getting bigger as we speak. I've had 4 asthma attacks since Christmas, my chest hurts and I get an instant headache as soon as I walk in the door. My sweet little cat even started to cough a few weeks back since the mister downstairs has been smoking indoors more because of the freezing weather and my asthma is getting worse.
Here is my issue. He's a really nice guy and I'm just not sure how to broach the subject. I could say "Hey Joe, Would you be really insulted if I asked if you could smoke outside because I now have asthma because the smoke drifts upstairs and my scripts just cost me 400 bucks. " Doesn't flow all that well. I have a million scenarios but which one to choose.... It is definitely a risk of him being pissed at me.... as we so recently experience by MrCig up there ^ ;P.
In fairness he doesn't smoke inside when his kids are there which is only every other weekend. So I do get a short break.
Might try the air purifier.
