I always ask myself what would martha stewart do to improve this...and she would say "use a shiny silver/stainless steel spigot to bring glamor to the pumpkin, hand paint the pumpkins stem a lovely metallic, and place the pumpkin on an antique silver or milk glass cake stand"

its a great solution, i just wonder about climbing out of it. It would be cool if the tub and rise and lower into the floor when not in use.

That rug looks like the one i got from costco, its the softest rug in the world. That being said, i also have a very black white and grey color scheme. My couch is grey and i have lucite tables and a black mid century chair. I tried many colors, the one that works best is golden yellow. Dont be afraid to mix gold with all the silver, it will look great, bring in warmth and looks very luxe.

so I did this project, albeit a little differently. It was a pain because making a square with pipes that have threads that all go the same way is very difficult. and it cost me almost 300 dollars, not 80. i did use galvanized pipe which made up for most of the cost. i painted the joints gold and the pipes black. Its beautiful now but it was weeks in the making.

Depending on where you live, you would be surprised at how affordable custom made furniture is now especially in this economy. I got a custom sofa in LA for 900 dollars and its better quality then if I had spend 3k. Go look around for furniture makers if this is what you want, im sure you can have it made for less.

I have that sofa, its from CB2. But i thought it was missing something, so I got 2 little swatches of fabric and barely eeked out 7 buttons to put in the tufts so it looked a bit more mid century, it was totally worth it. I have plans to replace the cold metal legs with wood ones but I cant find any. Its actually a great sofa, lounging near the arm isnt great unless you have a pillow, but its super long and a person can easily sleep comfortably. Plus no loose back pillows so it always looks sharp.

a mirror would be the typical option....but we arent typical people. But the nice thing about the mirror is that it provides light and shine. I would first paint the alcove a black or dark brown, then i would silver or gold leaf right over the paint. If the lines dont match up perfectly between the square leafs thats fine because the black underneath will make it look like an old chinese screen. Then polish it to almost a mirror like finish. Then i would find an image of a cherry blossom branch with a bird or something and freehand paint over the leaf. it provides interest, shine, and art without remodeling or hiding it, and if you hate it someday you can paint over it.

his and her bathrooms are such a great idea, sometimes people need their own space and it provides a little more mystery in a relationship which is good considering the amount of openness there is.

Ugh I hate chopped pillows too, and white faux animal heads. I also really hate a furry blanket or furry animal skin thrown over a wire metal chair, like its going to be more comfortable now? its just carelessly put there in that "oh I just dont care" fashion, please. Everyone has done it, its boring and it doesnt make anyone look edgy.

Im also tired of the big railroad wheeled coffee tables with the rustic wood. It was cute 8 years ago, now its just ridiculous.

and walls that are "venetian plastered".

Splurge on beds, couches, desk chairs, art, towels, and dressers. You think im crazy, but you use your dresser every single day. You need a good sturdy dresser to keep your clothes safe and clean after a long time of opening and closing dressers, you would be surprised how easy a cheap dresser breaks.
