Pretty great list - I especially agree with your last do/don't regarding a new mattress if you have allergies and that not all latex mattresses are created equal. A latex mattress is a great option if you have allergies, especially since it's non toxic and many of the chemicals in traditional mattresses can irritate those more susceptible to allergies.

Also, not all natural latex mattresses are created alike - my advice, do your research and find a reputable company that openly and honestly explains the entire production process of their mattresses and the products made to create it.

I'd also recommend checking out an organic crib mattress from Savvy Rest Natural Bedroom. It has a solid core of firm dunlop natural latex, and is made of certified organic cotton and wool.

I tried to find more information about the Denizen Design Gallery but the link is no longer working, however, I'm pretty sure it's a Savvy Rest Serenity organic mattress - since they have a lot of dealers. It's top of the line as organic mattresses go.
