@textiles is for kids. no need to "get it". as a designer, my sense is the scale of space from a child's perspective has a lot do with it. The point isn't to encourage them spend time there, rather encourage them to explore the world/or their rooms how they want to. If it get them reading - perfect. And to answer your question about who has an excess of closets... those who don't hoard things. why do we need so much "stuff"?

@wrenx maybe that's how things work at your house. maybe that's not how things work at this house. do you really think functionality is really missing from this project because the boots aren't in a bin? my sense is there is a tremendous amount of functionality here as the this space provides a much needed linkage between the detached garage and the house. there is storage available as observed with the cubbies. why go to a stylist??? because the client cannot envision these types of things. i hardly doubt buying some bins for the boots entails "finishing the room" in fact - it's the owner's right to do what they want with the space after it's been finished. yes. i woke up on the wrong side of bed today and you comment bugs me.

Janet might be right, but she can sure lose the attitude. "Horrid DIY objects sold on Etsy?" C'mon.

A great thing about living in America? I can do whatever I want with my trash. I'm taking my old Stooges vinyl and melting them in oven. Because I can.
