I recommend when doing the dry run, place sticky notes in each dish so you know what you're going to place in each bowl. Also match your service utensils at the same time. That way you are sure you have everything you need for the party.

Try Hidden Treasure Appraisals. My contact there was Sarah McCullom 703-370-2887 or ssmccullom@hotmail.com. Also had a cell 703-370-3468

She does Antiques, Fine Art and Decorative art in NOVA and W, DC.

She does it in accordance of the American Society of Appraisers ASA and in conformity w/ the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.

Her practice began in June 2004.

I met her at an event and held on to her information for my clients although I've not personally used her services.

I hope that helps.

Does anyone know if these can be washed so they can be reused? OR, what about recycling them?

I highly recommend you go the green route by using recycled denim. You can do it yourself without gloves or mask, and it's awesome stuff. Here's a how to article.

Here's a few places to read the product itself.

Habitat for Humanity actually uses denim in their houses now. I wrote about it last month.

Hope that's helpful.

Great idea to add the glass. I love the way you cut the legs to support the glass. Very creative. Fantastic space. I have my printer on a chrome shelf I found in the kitchen section at the container store so I could put my ScanSnap under the printer.

The Container Store has some great Eco-friendly products right now. Their recycle newsprint bins have an amazing look to them. They traditionally hold CDs or DVDs, but really you could use them in many areas of the house.

The Feathergrain Phoenix wood bins are very cool. I'm loving the style with handles but they also come with lids. Use them in your closets to hold pet supplies, collections, equipment, craft supplies - idea for organizing if you don't want plastic bins.

They also have a great desktop office collection right now created from recycled fiber board covered in the very hot 'plum' linen color we're seeing everywhere this fall. I've blogged about these items you can see them here http://tinyurl.com/cs-bins or you can find them on the Container Store's website.

Cheers - Scott

To add on to what others have said, I also have the table from CB2 and it works great. I wanted the round shape to go with the curves of the Swan Chairs the table sits between. Because of the high gloss finish, I've added a piece of glass to mine to avoid scratches.

Wow - I love this. Now I can replace the ugly heater I bought at the hardware store with something more stylish, and space saving. I just need to find the right art work first!

I have a vintage office side credenza I received from a friend. An auto body shop buffed off all the old paint down to the steel. The circular pattern that created is great. The metal was then finished off with a high gloss clear coat. Creating a cabinet everyone loves.

I'm looking to replace the original drawer lock, but haven't had luck finding the parts.

The top is laminate, and the color doesn't exactly go with the new high gloss steel finish. I'd love any ideas to change the top of the piece. If a picture would help I can post it to a flickr account.

Check out FLOR Carpet tiles, they're modular enough that you can easily stick them to the wall, and they come in enough colors and textures that you can actually do something funky and modern.

I've used them at a clients on her wall (she could hear her neighbors sneeze, talk, have sex, etc) and we went to town on the wall. We used heavier double sided tape to attach them to the wall.

She liked the idea because it was a quick fix, for under a few hundred dollars and she could re-purpose the FLOR at her next residence as an area rug.

Good luck, Scott aka declutteryou.com

Like others, I've used Great Scott twice and been very happy and so have the friends I've referred them too.

Be sure to ask questions about extra charges, insurance, fee if there is no elevator, or if there is an elevator, charge for stairs, if they have to box anything, if they charge for the packing materials, and always read the fine print!

I'm not surprised Washington Consignment closed. Several of my clients tried to sell items through the store. I had met the owner John Coon and thought he was a nice guy and that I'd refer some business to him. Each client reported nothing but trouble, mixed messages from employees, phone calls were left unanswered, and I don't think one of them ever was paid. I hope I'm wrong and that she was paid once I completed work with her.

Like @ValleyVal - I simply recommend Craigslist now to my clients or I'll sell the pieces for them myself.
